Lufkin's Pumping Unit Operation and Maintenance Training School is designed for oil production employees involved in the operation, maintenance and repair of pumping units. Technical calculations for equipment selection are not a regular part of training but are available if requested.

What is Covered

Students will learn how a pumping unit is designed and manufactured. Strong emphasis is placed on safety around a pumping unit. Also included is the actual setting of a pumping unit including lots of hands-on training...operating the pump unit...counterbalance adjustment... lubricating the unit... pumping unit stroke change... structural bearing assembly... preventative maintenance... trouble-shooting techniques.
