- Who Should Attend
LUFKIN's Pumping Unit Operation and Maintenance Training School is designed for oil
production employees involved in the operation, maintenance and repair of pumping units.
Technical calculations for equipment selection are not a regular part of training but are
available if requested.
- What is Covered
Students will learn how a pumping unit is designed, manufactured and tested. Strong
emphasis is placed on safety around a pumping unit. Also included is the actual setting of
a pumping unit including lots of hands-on training...operating the pump
unit...counterbalance adjustment... lubricating the unit... pumping unit stroke change...
structural bearing assembly... preventative maintenance...
trouble-shooting techniques. The four-day school also includes a plant tour.
- When
LUFKIN's Pumping Unit Operation and Maintenance Training School will be offered on the
following dates. Maximum enrollment is 16 students. Enrollment is on a first-come basis.

- Where
LUFKIN's Pumping Unit Operation and Maintenance Training School is conducted at our
Factory Training Center located in Lufkin, Texas U.S.A.
- Cost
Tuition is $750/person and includes local transportation, training materials, noon
meals, banquet dinner, and certificate of completion.
Please note: - If you enroll and then can't attend, you can always send a
substitute or transfer to another date - just call us at 936/637-5363. If you must cancel,
please call us as soon as possible. Cancellations received less than two weeks before the
school begins are subject to a $150 service charge. Confirmed registrants who fail to
attend are liable for the entire fee unless they contact us prior to the school to cancel.
- Housing
Best Western Crown Colony Inn & Suites offers a special participant room rate of $84.00 + tax for Kings or Doubles.
Suites are $10 more or $94.00 + tax. For reservations, please call 936/634-3481. Your reservation must be made at least
7 days prior to your planned arrival date and guaranteed with a method of payment directly to Best Western Crown Colony Inn & Suites. Any cancellation must be made by 4:00 p.m. date of arrival. Be sure to mention that you will be with LUFKIN's Pumping Unit Operation & Maintenance Training School.
LUFKIN will provide transportation from Best Western Crown Colony Inn & Suites to the Factory Training Center each school day.
