In November 1998, Lufkin acquired Comelor, a company founded in 1941 and located in Fougerolles, France. Comelor, now known as LUFKIN FRANCE, has an established reputation in a wide range of industries as a gear manufacturer: iron and steel, metal processing, paper, cement, sugar, rubber, material handling, refrigeration, petrochemical, power generation, oil drilling, test benches, etc. The company is also well known for its flexible gear couplings. Lufkin France is now the cornerstone of Lufkin's operations in Europe, which include complete sales and technical support, manufacturing, gear repair and field service.
