In West Texas, history isn’t carved in stone, it’s forged in steel and in the hearts of men covered in red dirt and oil.
Across the Permian Basin, beam pumping units stand where statues might in other towns. They mark the birth of communities, the rise of an industry, and generations of people who built their lives around the oilfield.
That’s why Landman chose Lufkin Industries.

For more than 120 years, Lufkin has been synonymous with the oilfield. Our beam pumping units helped shape the early days of West Texas oil production and continue to define modern operations through advanced automation and control systems.
In many Permian Basin towns, Lufkin equipment isn’t just infrastructure, it’s part of the identity. That legacy, built through decades of reliability and innovation, made Lufkin a natural choice to represent the industry on screen.

Lufkin was featured throughout Landman Season 2, including Episode 6 in the PBIOS scene and in the opening and closing scenes of Episode 10 where Lufkin BPUs with Automation System stand as a visual anchor of the oilfield itself.
Filming took place over last summer in true Texas conditions – heat included! Our teams worked side-by-side with the Landman production crew to ensure authenticity, safety and accuracy.

Our equipment isn’t the only one that made the screen, our people did too and they made it happen!
Lufkin’s South Texas BPU crew assembled and dismantled the unit in peak summer heat, executing the work safely, with professionalism, grit and pride that define our field teams every day.
You might even catch a glimpse of some of our sales, marketing and leadership team in the scene too.
This is what the oilfield looks like behind the scenes. And this is who keeps it running.
